Arrest of Man Attempting to Sell Dangerous Munitions

Law enforcement authorities have apprehended a 39-year-old resident of Izmail who was attempting to sell explosive devices. He was caught red-handed trying to sell two F-1 grenades for 5 thousand hryvnias. This was reported by the police.

Officers received information that the man was searching for a buyer for the munitions. During the documentation of the crime, police recorded the transfer of grenades near the train station. The suspect was found in possession of the munitions and fuses, which were sent for examination, as well as the money obtained from the sale.

The suspect explained that he acquired the grenades after the death of a relative and decided to sell them. He has been charged under part 1 of article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of explosive devices), which carries a penalty of up to seven years in prison. The court has chosen a preventive measure of detention.

"Law enforcement reminds that voluntary surrender of weapons and munitions exempts one from criminal liability" - the statement reads.
