Investigators have completed the pre-trial investigation concerning a woman who inflicted financial losses exceeding 48,000 hryvnias. An indictment has been sent to court. The offender faces imprisonment of up to three years.
The perpetrator operated at a market in the Peresyp district, posing as an expert in repairing electronics and household appliances. She offered her services, and five trusting individuals handed over their gadgets, including phones, tablets, and a robot vacuum for repairs. Promising to return the items quickly, the woman vanished with the belongings.
As a result of her actions, the victims suffered losses totaling over 48,000 hryvnias.
After waiting in vain for their property, the victims contacted the police. Through operational measures, officers from the Odessa District Police Department No. 1 identified and apprehended the offender, a 36-year-old local resident. She managed to sell the vacuum and two phones, but the police recovered all items and returned them to their rightful owners.
Investigators gathered sufficient evidence to charge her under parts 1 and 2 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - fraud committed repeatedly. The indictment has already been forwarded to court, and the woman faces up to three years of imprisonment.
The investigation was conducted under the supervision of the Suvorov District Prosecutor's Office in Odessa.
Police urge citizens to be cautious and to use services only from verified specialists and official service centers.
