Adaptive Sports for Veterans in Odessa: A New Approach

Odessa is actively promoting adaptive sports as part of the rehabilitation process for veterans. In 2024, the sports club 'Odessa-Basket' organized approximately 200 training sessions across various adaptive sports.

Veterans showed particular interest in training sessions for sports billiards (97 sessions) and wheelchair basketball (35 sessions).

Moreover, training was conducted in golf, table tennis, boxing, diving, and kayaking. Veterans are also being introduced to amputee football.

Additionally, veterans from Odessa participated in the world championship of billiards for athletes with disabilities in Los Angeles, as well as national competitions in adaptive sports billiards and wheelchair basketball.

Odessa takes pride in the resilience and spirit of its defenders.
