The U-17 National Championship in Greco-Roman Wrestling took place from April 4 to 6 in Khmelnytskyi.

This competition served as the qualifying event for the European Championship, scheduled for June in Italy.

The gold medal and a spot at the European Championship were claimed by Herman Basarab (48 kg), who showcased an outstanding performance while representing the Odessa Sports Wrestling Federation, Greek club, SHVSM "Olympiets", and the Dynamo Sports Society.

Another Odessa representative, Danilo Dragulyan, competed in the 65 kg category and earned a silver medal after a tough final against a Kharkiv athlete, securing a place in the Ukrainian national team.

Both athletes were coached by experienced mentors Viktor Synyavskyi and Oleksandr Hrabovan.
