Odesa athlete Vadim NAUMENKO once again impressed everyone by winning 4 gold medals at the open championship of Lithuania, held in Vilnius from April 3 to 6.
FINAL RESULTS
Leading Odesa swimmer Vadim NAUMENKO (coach – Oleksandra KURBANOVA) claimed top honors in the 200 m and 400 m individual medley events, as well as in the relays – 4x100 medley and 4x200 m freestyle.
In addition, Vadim made it to the top 6 best swimmers of the championship and received special awards together with his coach.
MEDAL DETAILS
In his signature event – the 200-meter individual medley - Vadim NAUMENKO won with a time of 2:02.11, taking the lead from the very first meters, while he completed the 400-meter race in 4:23.07. In both instances, the second place went to another Ukrainian swimmer – Anton Denisenko (Rivne).
In the medley relay, the Ukrainian team, consisting of Vadim and Anton along with Maksym Ovchinnikov and Denys Kesil (both from Dnipropetrovsk), achieved a time of 3:41.07, outpacing the nearest competitor by 2.45 seconds.
In the 4x200 m freestyle relay, the Ukrainian team triumphed with a time of 7:30.75 (+1.62 ahead of the silver medalists). In this event, Georgiy Lukashev (Lviv) replaced Ovchinnikov.
FUTURE COMPETITIONS
The next competition for the Odesa Oblast team will be the Ukrainian Championship scheduled for April 25-29 in Brovary.
Additionally, on April 12-13, Arseniy POBERIZHNYUK (2007-2009) and Ivan RIADUIEV (2010-2011) will participate in the international competition “Multination.” The older group will compete in Limassol (Cyprus), while the younger group will be in Ljubljana (Slovenia).
