Ukrainian player Diana Yastremska has successfully reached the third round at the ongoing Roland Garros tournament in Paris.
Diana kicked off her campaign at Roland Garros against Australian athlete Destanee Aiava, who received a wild card. The first set was fiercely contested, but Diana emerged victorious with a score of 7:5, 6:1.
This marks her best performance at the French Open, having previously reached the third round last year.
In the 1/32 finals, Yastremska defeated Russian player Diana Schneider, ranked 12th in the world, with a score of 7:5, 7:5. The match lasted 1 hour and 51 minutes, and this was their second meeting, where Diana managed to avenge her previous loss.
In the next round, the Odessa player will face another Russian, Lyudmila Samsonova.
