Ukrainian Volleyball Team: Stunning Victory in the Nations League

The Ukrainian national volleyball team accomplished an extraordinary feat in their match against Cuba in the Nations League, establishing a new record for blocks over the past four years.

The game concluded with a victory for the Ukrainians in a tiebreaker. Throughout the match, the Ukrainian players executed 17 blocks, with Yuri Semeniuk leading the way with 5 of those actions.

The last time Ukraine showcased such a performance was during the group stage of the 2021 European Championship against Portugal, where they achieved 19 blocks.

This match marked a record number of blocks for Ukraine under the guidance of Argentine coach Raul Lozano, who took over the team in 2024 (having already conducted 13 matches). The match against Cuba surpassed the previous record set in the 2024 Golden European League final against Croatia, which had 14 blocks.
