Ukrainian Aquathlon Championship for Veterans

On July 13, the Ukrainian aquathlon championship for veterans took place on the Black Sea coast of Odessa.

The event gathered 283 participants from various cities, including Odessa, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Bila Tserkva, Lviv, Donetsk region, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Kryvyi Rih, Khmelnytskyi, Kharkiv, and others.

The swimming stage (1 km, 2 km, 4 km) was held in the coastal waters from the 'Chaika' beach (starting area) to the yacht club and back. The running stage (5 km, 10 km, 20 km) traversed the Health Trail from the 'Chaika' beach to the 'Golden Coast' beach and back.

In the overall ranking, Andriy Kushnerov from Kyiv won with a time of 46:13, followed by Serhiy Zviahin from Kyiv at 53:18, and Odesa's Petro Vasyliev at 58:09.

In the 'long' aquathlon (2+10 km), Odesa's Vadym Maslenikov secured victory with a time of 1:13:01, silver went to Serhiy Chernyshov from Kyiv at 1:14:53, and bronze also went to Serhiy Yanhicher from Kyiv at 1:16:35.

In the 'Standard' aquathlon (1+5 km), Andriy Pechenyi from Kyiv won at 33:28, followed by Semen Tereshchenko at 34:07, and Odesa's Denys Polyakov took bronze at 35:08.

Among women in this distance, all podium spots were taken by Kyiv athletes. The champion was Anastasiya Ihnatkina, followed by Nadiya Somina, and Iryna Krotova in third place.

The event was organized by the Odesa Regional Triathlon Federation with support from the Odesa City Council.
