From November 17 to 19, 2025, Uzhgorod hosted the Ukrainian championship for junior cadets under 17 in judo.

This year's competition featured over 500 athletes born between 2009 and 2011 from 21 regions of Ukraine.

The Odesa region was represented by students from the Comprehensive Children and Youth Sports School No. 15 in Odesa.

Vladimir Sorvachov won a silver medal in the 73 kg weight category, while Yury Pinchuk claimed a bronze medal in the 66 kg category.

The athletes were trained by coach Gennady Yaremenko.

Currently, there are 143 young athletes training in judo sections of municipal sports schools in Odesa.
