Android 16: Upcoming Features and Release Dates

Google has officially confirmed that the stable version of Android 16 will be available in June 2025. This announcement was made by Allen Huang, the product management director for Pixel and Android systems, during a briefing ahead of The Android Show, as reported by Android Authority.

According to him, the updated Material 3 Expressive design will be launched later this year, initially for Pixel devices. However, this change will not be part of the public release of Android 16 in June.

While the exact release date for the operating system has not been revealed, there were previous unofficial reports about a launch on June 3. Google is expected to provide more details during the I/O conference starting on May 20.

Following the release of Android 16 for Pixel, other manufacturers will gradually announce their updates. Notably, Samsung is preparing a beta version of One UI 8 based on Android 16.

Additionally, The Android Show announced the integration of the AI assistant Gemini into Android Auto and the new Wear OS 6 based on Android 16.
