Google has assured users that rumors regarding a serious security issue in Gmail are unfounded. The company stated that no mass alerts were sent to users of the service.
This incident relates to a phishing attack on Salesforce, which Google first reported in June, and on August 8 announced that all affected users were notified.
"We want to reassure our users that the security of Gmail is robust and effective," the company stated.
Google specified that its protective measures block over 99.9% of phishing and malicious attack attempts. The company also recommends using secure alternatives to passwords, such as passkeys, for maximum account security.
