At CES 2026, Takway.Ai introduced a novel virtual toy named Sweekar, which represents a modern take on the classic Tamagotchi, now enhanced with artificial intelligence.
Unlike traditional Tamagotchis, Sweekar is designed to "feel" touch, remember its owner's voice, stories, and personality traits.
Sweekar undergoes various stages of development: "egg", "childhood", "teenage years" and "adulthood". With each phase, the toy acquires new capabilities and becomes more attuned to its owner. Developers claim that the device can exhibit different moods – happy, angry, sleepy, or even a "sly smile". The Sweekar egg vibrates and "grows", providing a tactile experience.
A standout feature of this innovation is its memory. Sweekar can recall its owner's name, favorite color, and significant events such as forgotten birthdays. This is achieved through a combination of Gemini and ChatGPT technologies.
According to Engadget, Sweekar will be available on Kickstarter starting March 2026, with a price range of approximately $150-200.
