A new initiative is underway in Odesa to establish a Community Hub that aims to enhance collaboration between the public and local authorities.

This was announced during an extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee led by Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.

The mayor highlighted that this hub will be a place of equal opportunities, where community organizations can conduct their activities, hold meetings, and collaboratively implement projects aimed at improving the living conditions of city residents and internally displaced persons.

To facilitate this, a two-story building with a large basement on Uspenska Street has been transferred to the Odesa Municipal Youth Center. The capital renovation will be managed by the relevant Capital Construction Department, which has already prepared the necessary project documentation.

“However, our active youth have made their mark. In December, the city won a grant from UNDP of nearly $150,000, and will act as the client for the renovation works. The implementation period is set until March 15, 2025,” the mayor reported.

By the Executive Committee's decision, the project documentation has been transferred from the Capital Construction Department to the Odesa Municipal Youth Center. The Mayor of Odesa has instructed the head of the Capital Construction Department to assist the youth in executing the project 'Odesa Community Hub'.
