The mayor of Odessa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, awarded Yevhen Kaus the Honorary Sign «Gratitude» for his participation in the 2025 Invictus Winter Games.
Yevhen is a veteran of the Russo-Ukrainian war, an active sportsman, and a certified rowing coach.
During his service, Yevhen fought on the Kherson front, where he was injured. After returning from the war and undergoing rehabilitation, he took up powerlifting and archery, eventually becoming a rowing coach. In 2024, his team successfully rowed 55 km, earning him the FORTIS silver ring. Yevhen also joined the Ukrainian national team for the Invictus Games.
At the inaugural Invictus Winter Games in Canada, Yevhen represented Odessa in three events: curling, biathlon, and skeleton.
This year, the Ukrainian team was the largest in history, comprising 35 military personnel and veterans.
