Odesa is currently engaged in marking a new barrier-free route.
The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy has introduced a fresh design for communications within the framework of the National Strategy for creating an accessible space by 2030.
This design system includes:
- a universal logo;
- consistent guidelines for font and color usage;
- a visual system,
- based on six aspects of accessibility:
- physical,
- informational,
- educational,
- digital,
- civic,
- economic.
Each area is represented as a separate point in the logo. Together, they form a circle — a symbol of unity, inclusivity, and equal access for all, regardless of individual characteristics.
With this logo, the marking of the barrier-free route is taking place today in Odesa.
This is a crucial phase of a larger initiative launched by the mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, under the pilot project "Movement Without Barriers." The marking process is carried out by expert groups from the Barrier-Free Council with the participation of people with disabilities, urban planners, and accessibility specialists.
