This past weekend in Odesa, an open training session for wushu took place at the inclusive beach No. 11. The event was held outdoors, barefoot on the sand, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
War veterans joined the training with great enthusiasm, trying their hand at this new sport. During the session, different styles of wushu were showcased — both contact and non-contact, dynamic and health-oriented. Everyone had the opportunity to learn techniques, feel the rhythm of the movements, and find their inner balance.
The event served as an example of how an inclusive space can be vibrant - welcoming to people with diverse experiences and new meanings.
The masterclass was conducted by:
Contact Wushu (self-defense):
- Volodymyr Shevchenko — Master of Sports of Ukraine, European Champion, multiple-time Champion of Ukraine, licensee of the upcoming World Games in wushu sanda;
- Olexandr Mykolayovych Berezhny — Honored Coach of Ukraine, Senior Coach of wushu sanda at the Odesa Federation;
- Serhiy Fedorovych Muntianu — war veteran, combat participant, coach of wushu sanda at the Odesa Federation.
Non-contact Wushu (health-oriented direction):
