In the Odesa region, law enforcement agencies have arrested the deputy head of the regional territorial center for recruitment and social support on suspicion of extorting illegal benefits. The suspect promised to remove an individual from the wanted list for $3,000. He has been charged and faces up to 10 years in prison.

It was established that the head of the mobilization accounting department was engaged in corrupt activities. He demanded $3,000 from a conscript who violated military accounting rules to be removed from the wanted list.

After receiving a second part of the bribe amounting to $2,000, the police apprehended the suspect. The money was seized as physical evidence.

Investigators gathered sufficient evidence and charged the detainee under part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which prescribes a penalty of up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. The court chose a preventive measure of detention with the possibility of posting bail of 1,211,200 hryvnias.

The investigation continues under the supervision of the Odesa Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the defense sector of the Southern region.
