New Medical Center Opens in Odesa: Support for Mariupol Residents

A new medical center, «Mariupol. Health», has been launched on Simi Hlodan Street in Odesa, bringing together five relocated medical institutions from Mariupol:

  • Polyclinic of Mariupol City Hospital No. 9;
  • Ambulatory No. 9 of Primary Medical Care Center No. 2 of Mariupol;
  • Rehabilitation department of Mariupol City Hospital No. 8;
  • Women's consultation of Mariupol City Maternity Hospital;
  • Dentistry office.

This is the fifth medical hub relocated to other Ukrainian cities where many Mariupol residents live. According to Mariupol's mayor Vadym Boychenko, this center is the largest of those previously opened and the last in this series of projects. It will provide medical assistance to all who need it.

Vadym Boychenko expressed gratitude to the Odesa community, Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov, Executive Director of the Association of Ukrainian Cities Oleksandr Slobozhan, and the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for their continuous support and assistance in establishing the center.

«Today marks 11 years since the residents of Odesa elected me as mayor. During this time, we have renovated many city hospitals, polyclinics, and ambulatory clinics in Odesa. We work daily to improve the quality of medical services. Today, Odesa has gained another opportunity to receive quality medical care in modern conditions. This also creates additional job opportunities,» — stated Hennadiy Trukhanov.

At the event, words of gratitude were voiced for the defenders of Mariupol. Among those present were Heroes returned from captivity. They will have the chance to undergo treatment and rehabilitation at the new medical center, which has been created with all the necessary conditions for their recovery.
