On February 12, a child was urgently transported to a local hospital, where he unfortunately passed away without regaining consciousness.
The police have confirmed this information.
Preliminary reports indicate that the 36-year-old mother left her youngest child with three older siblings aged 15, 14, and 11 while she went to work. When the boy woke up feeling unwell, the older children notified their mother by phone. She called for an ambulance, but sadly, they could not save him.
According to the mother, her son had sustained serious injuries in December after falling from a table and was admitted to the Odessa Regional Children's Hospital with multiple bruises and a hemorrhage. He was discharged for outpatient care, but this incident was not reported to the police. Until now, the family had not been on the radar of law enforcement or social services.
Investigators from Police Station No. 1 of the Bolgrad District have initiated proceedings under paragraph 2 of part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, sending the child’s body for forensic examination to determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing, and all circumstances regarding this tragic event are being established.
