In Odesa, a tenant fatally stabbed his landlord during a gathering and fled to the capital. The perpetrator was sentenced to nine years in prison for his actions.

The incident occurred in March of last year in the apartment of a 63-year-old resident of Odesa. Friends who couldn't contact him reported the situation to the police. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered the man unresponsive.

During the investigation, it was found that a 53-year-old tenant from another region was involved in the landlord's death, having rented a room in his apartment.

Investigations revealed that a day before the body was found, a conflict arose between the men during a drunken gathering, which escalated to the tenant stabbing the landlord in the chest and back. After committing the crime, he fled to Kyiv, where he was later apprehended.

Forensic experts confirmed the suspect's involvement through biological samples. The medical examination determined that the cause of death was penetrating stab wounds to the chest.

According to the police chief, the suspect was detained, and after gathering sufficient evidence, he was charged with murder. The court sentenced him to nine years of imprisonment, and the defendant admitted his guilt and expressed sincere remorse.
