Ukrainian Karate Star Shines at World Championship

From November 27 to 30, the World Karate Championship took place in Cairo, Egypt. A total of 384 athletes (192 men and women) from 88 countries participated in the competition.

Ukrainian karateka Angelika Terliuga achieved remarkable success, earning a bronze medal in the under 55 kg category.

After losing in the quarter-finals to Egyptian competitor Ahlam Youssef (3:8), Angelika was granted the opportunity to compete for bronze due to her rival reaching the finals. She faced Valentina Toro Meneses from Chile (ranked No. 2 in the WKF world rankings) and won 6:4, showcasing her skill and indomitable spirit.

This year, following the birth of her child, Angelika Terliuga has already proven her high caliber by winning a silver medal at the World Games in Chengdu, China.
