UNITED24, in collaboration with Microsoft and the Ministry of Digital Transformation, has launched a new documentary project that immerses viewers in the journey of rebuilding Ukraine — ‘Virtual Journey to Rebuild’.
The project centers around an eight-year-old dancer from Irpin named Arina. Her hometown and dreams were shattered by Russian strikes. She had to flee her home with her mother, only to return to a devastated community. Arina's story embodies the fate of thousands of Ukrainian children. To show the war through the eyes of youth, the project combines documentary footage, art, and innovative technology.
“Thanks to the initiative of UNITED24 and the support from Microsoft, we can show the world the truth about the scale of destruction Ukraine has suffered due to Russian aggression. Such projects elevate fundraising, making it more effective and bringing attention back to Ukraine,” said Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister.
Through innovative technologies, viewers are transported into a virtual space where they will visit the destroyed cultural center in Irpin. There, Arina shares her dream of dancing on a grand stage. Users will explore the rich cultural heritage of Ukraine in a reconstruction of the Irpin cultural center, including the traditions of “Shchedryk” and the works of contemporary artist Masha Reva.
Microsoft provided expert support and the capabilities of its Azure cloud platform to realize this complex project.
“Our collaboration with Ukraine demonstrates what can be achieved when innovation serves a greater goal. We are proud to be a reliable technology advisor,” comments Andy Pratt, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft.
This project shows a new approach to fundraising for the reconstruction of Ukraine and embodies the dreams and hopes for the future of Ukrainian children. UNITED24 has launched a new initiative called “Education and Science” to help children achieve their dreams.
