Officers from Police Station No. 2 of the Odessa District Police have discovered that a 41-year-old resident of the Usatov community is involved in criminal activities. At the end of January this year, law enforcement documented the man selling methamphetamine, which is restricted in circulation. The perpetrator was arrested while selling a package containing «goods» on the street near his residence. Investigators seized the psychotropic substance and conducted a rapid test.

As evidence, officers also confiscated money obtained from the «goods» from the offender, and during a sanctioned search of his property – another package with an unknown substance, equipment for packaging psychotropics, and other items of interest to the investigation. All seized substances were sent for examination.
According to Elena Ditsul, the senior investigator of Police Station No. 2 of the Odessa District Police, the suspect was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and was informed of the suspicion of illegal acquisition, storage for the purpose of sale, and illegal sale of psychotropic substances. According to the sanctions of part 1 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the man faces imprisonment for up to eight years. During the investigation, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention with the right to bail. The investigation is ongoing under the procedural guidance of the Bilyaivka District Prosecutor's Office. Individuals involved in drug trafficking are being identified.
